Bernice Lowe
Bernice brings aesthetics of beauty and harmony into her work, to create sculpture that invites the eyes and the senses in from the mundane to stop, linger a while and to just enjoy……….. She has a deep appreciation of classical sculpture especially portraiture and
the human figure. It is from this discipline that she finds inspiration for her more abstract and more contemporary sculptures.

” I committed to the journey of exploring this art form 17 years ago. My experience of life was that everything I did was an “in order to” – I had a desire to explore and create for no other reason than committing to something because I said so and to explore the conversation of “mastery”. “

“I have explored a number of creative avenues, but sculpture has been the most absorbing and fulfilling, as it requires the mastery of many skills. I have been very fortunate to have had Tom Bass as a teacher and mentor. Teaching with him has been a great opportunity to broaden my experience and knowledge of sculpture.”
