The emergence of prizes, awards and survey shows since the 1960s has changed attitudes towards sculpture and resulted in the renewed interest in forgotten/little known sculptors and the emergence of a new generation of art collectors. In addition to this, the lecture will highlight among others, the impact of the Mildura Sculpture Triennial (VIC), Australian Sculpture Triennial (VIC), Canberra National Sculpture Forum (ACT), The Helen Lempriere National Sculpture Award (VIC), McClelland Sculpture Survey & Award (VIC) National Sculpture Prize (ACT) and Sculpture by the Sea (NSW) exhibitions.
