Who We Are

We are a School and a Studio. Our goal to promote Sculpture is outlined in our Corporate Statement.
The students and teachers are the fabric of the life of the school. Tom Bass founded the school in 1974 and we are the oldest independent sculpture school in Australia. Our visiting program has invited guest sculptors/teachers to participate in our Special Workshops.
Set against the history of teaching sculpture in the Master apprentice model, we find as students progress they reach a level of competence that enables them to participate in the commissions and exhibitions in The Studio Space. Our sculptors and some of our students form the group of the guest sculptors who are joined in this by past students and visiting sculptors.
Since July 2003 a Board has managed the school and studio.
